Veza Sur opens with plenty of unique brews and cocktails by Bar Lab
Wynwood’s brewery scene continues to grow, and its latest addition is Veza Sur (55 NW 25th Street), which officially opens its doors to the public tomorrow, August 19. The brainchild of founding partners Berny Silberwasser of Bogota Beer Company, and Chris and Jeremy Cox of 10 Barrel Brewing Co. and part of the craft beer focused Anheuser-Busch InBev portfolio, it features a colorful space and plenty of brewed on-site beers.
Inside the space it features a library filled with books, native plants and South American-inspired memorabilia behind a 40-foot bar made of reclaimed drift wood, which serves up 18 different beers on draft. Outside there is colorful seating – that is covered, an essential in Miami – and is surrounded by graffiti murals and plenty of buttonwood oak trees to help give it a homier (and not some warehouse) feel.
As for the beers on tap, plenty of the brews are inspired by Miami and South America like the Latin Lager, Session IPAs, Coffee Porter, and the throw back Chopp, a traditional Brazilian drink. Also on hand are beer cocktails, created by the Bar Lab team, and a food truck called Baja Bao by the Pubbelly Boys serving bao buns filled with lechon, chicken mole, barbecue pork, along with a selection of guacamoles and tostadas.
